Project Overview
Kern Controls was commissioned to design and commission a bespoke Building Management System for a prestigious private residence at 44 Portland Place, London.
The objective was to deliver precise heating and cooling control while ensuring the technology remained virtually invisible within the property's luxury interiors. Using KNX as the core building automation platform, the system was fully integrated with Crestron Home, allowing occupants to manage their environment through a single, intuitive interface.
To preserve the architectural aesthetic, room thermostats were discreetly concealed within bespoke joinery, providing a resilient backup temperature sensing strategy without introducing visible control devices into the finished spaces.
The result is a Building Management System that delivers exceptional comfort whilst remaining almost entirely hidden from view.
